Alf FMB is a striking red bay Westfalen NA colt by Aliano (Aljano / Corrado I / Fernando) and out of a Rio Grande mare. Alf has very expressive, bouncy movement with a lot of articulation. He possesses a super friendly, inquisitive personality and has all the chrome one could want: a big blaze and four socks. Alf won Champion Colt at his Westfalen NA Inspection.
Pedigree
Alf’s imported Holsteiner sire, Aliano, was in Grand Prix Dressage training and has competed successfully up to the Intermediare I level. Aliano comes from the famous STAMM 318D2, which has a strong reputation in breeding and sport. It is the direct motherline of the stallions Corofino I and II, Diorado, Diarado among many others. In the fall of 2014, Aliano was presented to the AHHA after he had met his dressage performance requirements. He earned impressive scores and Judge Michael Gonell remarked that “Americans should be standing more stallions like Aliano that excel at both dressage and jumping.” Aliano’s versatility, talent, and temperament are consistently seen in his very typey offspring.
Alf’s dam sire is Rio Grande – a proven producer of performance horses. Rio Grande is best known for producing some of the best hunters currently competing in North America such as 2002 AHSA Horse of the Year Rio Bronco or Rio Renoir – Champion at the $60,000 National Horse show. Rio Grande produced numerous WEF Champions such as Eye Remember Rio, Due North, Rio’s Echo and Rio Bravo. Rio Grande has been in the top 5 of the USEF Hunter Sire ranking for several years now.
